The British Library: How Things Used To Be
For the uninitiated, the British Library, as it is now, is a relatively new institution as it was formerly an integral part of the British Museum. As someone who spends a reasonable amount of time at the British Library, it was amusing to come across these two sketches from the Black and White Budget of 1901. The library, of course, now has clean, modern, air conditioned reading rooms with computer terminals all over the place but I'm sure the guy in the picture above still works there!
